In November 2009, the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History opened the doors to its new 166,000-square-foot museum. Located in Fort Worth's Cultural District, the museum features innovative learning studios; exhibit galleries such as the Cattle Raisers Museum, Fort Worth Childrens Museum, Energy Blast, DinoLabs and DinoDig, the Native American Gallery, and Fort Worth History gallery; special traveling exhibitions; all-digital Noble Planetarium; new retail and dining options, and special events room. Designed by Legorreta + Legorreta, it brings science and history to life like never before. The Omni Theater, a 2D IMAX dome, was upgraded with digital sound and enhanced LED lighting in 2008.
