Baroque Music Ensemble
Comprising the brothers Pablo, Daniel and Aarón Zapico, under the direction of the latter, Forma Antiqva is a musical formation of baroque music, whose members vary from time to time, bringing together the most illustrious performers of their generation having been chosen to play at Spanish festivals of old music in I REMA (Réseau Européen de Musique Ancienne) Showcase 2007.
Their brilliant career includes concerts at important prestigious festivals and seasonal events nationwide: Teatro Real in Madrid, Quincena Musical in San Sebastián, LAuditori in Barcelona, Auditorio in El Escorial, Pórtico de Zamora, Festival Internacional en el Camino de Santiago, Música y Patrimonio de la Fundación Caja Madrid Trust, Ciclo de Cantatas de J. S. Bach in the Churches of Madrid, attaining unanimous public as well as critics acclaim.
At the same time, and at an international level, Forma Antiqva is consistently, as well as rapidly, adding to its list of venues: in September 2005, they embarked on their first tour, with nine performances in Bolivia (Sta. Cruz, El Alto, Cochabamba y La Paz) and Brazil (Río de Janeiro); in October and November 2007 they were in Singapore (concerts and Master class at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory), Australia (III Melbourne Spring Early Music Festival) and Módena. In November 2008, they were in Athens and in 2009 Amilly (France), Prague, Beijing, Shanghai and Tokyo.
Until now their three commercial recordings under the label Arsis (Bizarro!!, Insólito Estupor and Sopra Scarlatti) have been hailed with acclaim and recognition in specialized critical circles (Recommended in CD Compact, Excellent in Ritmo, Prelude Classical Music Awards 2009 or Award for the best CD in vocal baroque music 2008 - 2009 from CD Compact).
Since November 2008, having been offered Henry Purcells opera Dido & Aeneas for the Fundación Caja Madrid, the New York harpsichord performer Kenneth Weiss is the main invited director in Forma Antiqva.
Forma Antiqva has given exclusive artist rights to the German record company Winter & Winter, with whom two CDs will be recorded this year named: Amore x Amore and Concerto Zapico.
Forma Antiqva is leading, together with the musicologist María Sanhuesa, a unique recovery project from the archives of Archivo de Música de la Catedral de Oviedo, to be presented in October 2010 at the Ciclo Música Sacra en las Catedrales Españolas (Sacred Music cycle of Spanish Cathedrals) sponsored by Fundación Caja Madrid.

¡FELIZ NAVIDAD!
And the counter-tenor, such a wonderfull and warm voice.
