About Me:

As a rock band, Forget the Girl's songs can only be described as strangely familiar, but profoundly different in their depth and effect. Since 2002 the band has played in and around the Boston area, with the result being an enthusiastic fan base and a great reception to their recently released LP, Walk Around In Your Head.

This concept of familiar-but-unique is really their great appeal, with lead singer/guitarist Mike Hong's delivering moving vocals over the band's well thought-out guitars and rhythms. The music is accessible, but not predictable.

Depth is what really characterizes Forget the Girl's music. Beyond the music, the lyrics really bring home the essence of why FtG's fans are so enthusiastic about their songs. This is music that speaks on a deep level:

Why do I think life's not fair, as if it should be?
We just know there is a feeling...it must be
'Cause everything's alright, but everything's not right...

The band's name? Mike says that it originates from the idea that while relationships and romance are in fact an important part of our lives, they can't define our existence. "We can chase for meaning and fulfillment in others, only to find that they were trying to find the same thing in us. Then you're sort of in an empty room, with two people and no answers. Relationships are important, and a lot of our songs are about relationships, but hopefully they speak to something deeper too."
