Yes, this Pleco was purchased from a pet shop as a baby, less than 2" in length. I believe most, if not all Plecos of this variety are wild caught rather than bred.

I bought this Pleco as a baby, about 2" long. He is now close to 14" and lives in a 40 gallon tank. I have another Pleco that is 17 years old, but not quite as large as the one in the video. I wonder just how long they do live?
