"gYu," pronounced "yu," is the Tibetan word for "Turquoise". We chose it as the name of our company for its visual elegance and for its spiritual significance.
Founded in Vancouver, in 2003, gYu Films produces fiction and nonfiction productions focusing on cross-cultural stories from diverse points of view.
We have a multi-lingual creative team, high definition cameras, and strong aspirations. Our mission is to tell the stories of those who are underrepresented by the mainstream media, and to explore the possibilities for creative communications between different cultures.
