An urgent plea to all Georgia State Park lovers -- It's time to join the effort to help protect these great places. If we don't step up, Parks will be closed.

The Okefenokee Swamp is located at the Southeastern border of Georgia. Early native Americans named the area "Okefenoke", The Land of the Trembling Earth, due to the swamp's unfirm ground.

Great video series. Your videos reminded me of the times when we used to camp out more when the children were younger.

During 2002, I rode my motorcycle through all 159 counties in the state of Georgia. Just as your videos show, it is amazing how diverse and beautiful Ga's landscape is. That was a great idea of "30 parks in 30 days".

I can't wait to see your Providence Canyon video. I have wanted to visit for over 6 years and with news of park closings, it disappoints me to see it as a potential cut.

We stay at General Coffee every summer. Our oldest son participates in an archaeology dig close by and the state park is the best deal around. The cabins are great and the staff is super friendly. Last year we saw alligators due to the drought. It's still the highlight of our visits but our resident raccoon comes in a close second.

Thanks for this series and please continue to put up new videos, it encourages me to spend more time at our parks. We only have ourselves to blame for the upcoming cuts, I wish we could come up with a solution to keep them all open.

Keep up the great work

Our favorite state park actually isn't a state park....we LOVE the Cohutta Wilderness Area in extreme Norht Georgia....we can get in there, hike all day long with our yellow lab, and see maybe a dozen people. And it's an easy drive from home.

Of all the state parks we've visited (which isn't many), I think our favorite is Sprewell Falls down by Thomaston....it's very pretty and very remote - not a lot of folks there. The river is beautiful there. And Warm Springs / FDR park is nearby as well.

Outstanding series...love the idea! The state should hire you...

We have spent a majority of our park time up in the N. GA Mtn. area parks, as well as the Coastal parks. I have enjoyed seeing the other areas, in btw.!

Looking forward to seeing Providence Canyon if you go...thanks!

Hi, I don't really have a favorite, I like em all. Was wondering how you pick which ones you choose to go to though. Should definitely check out Amicalola and Unicoi if you want to see some impressive waterfalls.
