Ernst Stolz performs a wide gamut of early music by himself or in collaboration with guests on this channel.
Ernst Stolz is a professional music teacher/ educator and music performer in the Netherlands.
"With the many pupils in my studio, I can't really focus on a concert career that much. For me this is an ideal way, of still being able to present myself for a more extensive audience.
In my studio I mostly teach the piano, but my great passion is the early music. I hope to bring this to the attention, for a public, which is not always familiar with this type of music.
I am glad, so many people show their appreciation. Thank you!
I would like to ask, not to mail me for copies of the music I play, sometimes I add a link myself!
I hope you enjoy my choice of music, but any suggestions are quite welcome!"

About Me:
Although I teach all kinds and styles of music and can play modern styles on piano, my real passion is making music from the past; 4 till 2 centuries ago for example.
I like to make some study of the music I play and am interested in history.
On this page, I present some of my music.
The works by Dutch composers are placed in a series: "Monumenta Musica Neerlandica".
Also works by composers from other parts of Europe are to be found.
(I record and produce my own video's
and recordings.)
instruments used:
harpsichords: Bedard (kit: the red); Peter Suringa (Italian after Boni); Henk Terwal (virginal); Kalsbeek (French one manual, after Blanchet);
clavichord by Sassman (unfretetted, single strung);Dick Verwolf fretted double strung,(copy after an anonymous
clavichord in the Gemeentemusem the Hague);
viola da gamba by Marco Ternovec, after Collichon; discant viola by Floris-Jan v.d. Voort after Giovanni Maria di Brescia. Bass Viola da Gamba after Tielke (Original from the Orpheon collection, with thanks to José Vazquez) made by Floris v.d. Voort..
bows Gerard Landwehr (older video's) and Kees van Hemert.

Concert with the Quirinus Ensemble Works by Purcell, Handel and Bach |

Dear friends and colleagues! The treble viola da gamba from one of my pupils was stolen in October, 2009.
The owner of this viol has just informed me that the police has refused to contact violin makers about this theft, because in their opinion it is not important enough. Therefore please help: send this to all of the violin makers you know, particularly in Europe, as the instrument will most likely be offered to a luthier for sale. Also to your musician friends, who might see or hear about this instrument.
This treble viola da gamba, belonging to C. Lieberherr, Switzerland, has been missing since October 2009.
Thank you for your help,

Thank you so very much Ernst! You and your music are a Treasure to me!
