It makes a lot of sense to me. All horses being ridden with tack have metal pulling on their mouths to force them to move in certain ways, and horse training is widely done with negative reinforcement. As in, kicking to speed them up, tugging the reins to turn - the horse doesn't know what you want and they just have to guess. That's poor training. In any case, if you feel your horse really enjoys riding maybe you're right, but at least don't use them to get medals. That's insane.
