When I was in my 20s -- the late 1960s, early 1970s -- I performed the coffeehouse circuit in New York City (the Other End, Top of the Gate, etc.) with my own original songs. The songwriting and performing were put on hold when I started a family. The three children from that marriage have joined a fourth from a new wife and I opened a coffeehouse of my own on City Island, NY, the Starving Artist.
