About Elektra Women's Choir
Elektra's mission is to "inspire and lead in the choral art form through excellence in performance and the creation, exploration, and celebration of women's repertoire" and we do so whole-heartedly!
We were founded in 1987, and are multiple first-prize winners in the CBC biannual choral competition. We have performed in varied places such as Carnegie Hall in New York, the Sydney Opera House in Australia, and most recently at Festival 500 (2007) in St. John's, Newfoundland and in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.
We also contribute regularly to our community through programs such as the Mira Mentorship program for high school students and Tapestry Women's Choral Festival.
Above all, we love to sing!
