and could you please give me some advice on something im thinking about buying this silver fender acoustic guitar from a pawn shop for 300 dollars its in pretty good condition except that the bridge is all scratched up the name of it is Fender SMS Celtic and its made in korea, could you please tell me if its a good deal or if i should buy it or not? the guy said that it is really rare and they dont make them anymore but i cant really find any info on the internet

The HSS means it has a humbucker pickup, and two single coils. That humbucker will likely give you a much hotter and meatier sound. It would probably work fine for your purposes if you really want a strat. If it isn't enough, you could have someone retrofit a different, hotter pickup. Good luck in your search! You'd probably save money and get a great guitar with an Ibanez, though.

The guitars were all sold on ebay the summer of 2007. They belonged to my wife's uncle who died in a motorcycle accident. I sold them on behalf of my mother-in-law. There was only one I really wished I kept. The Koa strat made in Korea was a special sounding instrument.

I don't think the deluxe players strat is the best choice for heavy metal. You really want hotter pickups for that. There are lots of good choices from less expensive brands. Of course, with today's amps, you can make almost any guitar sounds like a monster. I used to like Carvins for what you get for the money, but I play a line 6 variax which gives me lots of versatility and I love, love, love, love the neck.
