Eco-Israel, a 5-month MASA program which allows participants to explore how ecology, Judaism and Israel blend together in a working model of self-sustaining ecological community. Students spend five months living on the Hava & Adam Eco-Educational Farm, a center for permaculture and sustainability conveniently located halfway between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
Program participants get hands-on experience in organic farming and gardening, natural building, medicinal herbs, composting and more. On the Hava & Adam farm students have the opportunity to develop a deep, personal, land-based relationship with the Land of Israel, its diverse cultures, and inspiring landscapes. Working the land is done in tune with the seasonal flow and holiday celebrations of the agricultural Hebrew calendar. Students experience and engage with the Bible and Jewish agricultural precepts in relevant, hands-on ways.
