Founded in 1968, Eckerd is a national leader in giving children and families much-needed second chances. Serving more than 11,000 children and families annually, Eckerd is one of the largest privately-funded nonprofit youth and family service organizations in the United States.
Eckerd offers a full continuum of care featuring nearly 30 life-changing behavioral health and child welfare services to help children and families. Our privately funded services include Eckerd Academy -- a licensed accredited residential treatment center that helps students reach their maximum potential. Our publicly funded services range from prevention, community-based, out-of-home and aftercare services for children and families.
Eckerd also is an experienced partner in helping states manage and transform publicly funded systems of care. For example, Eckerd Community Alternatives serves as a system manager for one of the largest community-based welfare systems of care in Florida.
