[PORTLAND, OR] Dark Matter Film/Video Contest at Red Flag Tavern - 72 Hour Film Contest - $100 - Open to all - Seven minutes (goal) - Due: October 19th, 2009 - Screening Sunday, October 25th, 2009

Entry fee: $10 (for promotion and processing time)

In the 72-Hour Contest on Friday, October 16, 2009 at 9:00PM Portland horror filmmakers will begin producing a three-minute story on video. 72-hours later they will be dropped off at Red Flag Tavern and screened at RF Sunday the 25th (the weekend before Halloween). Costumes encouraged!

WE DON'T RETAIN YOUR RIGHTS TO THE MOVIE YOU MAKE.

Our goals for this contest are to (1) have fun (2) showcase Halloween horror movies (3) connect filmmakers. Even if your film doesnt win, well help people see it. And if you win, thats a bonus!

HORROR SUB-GENRES
1) Reality/True Crime (Manson, Dahmer, etc)
2) Environmental (Prophecy, Day After Tomorrow, etc)
3) Zombie (Romero, 28 Days Later, etc)
4) Psychotronic (exploitation, spaghetti western, grindhouse, bikers, drugs, etc... but scary!)
5) Erotic Horror (anne rice, clive barker, be creative...)
6) Monster (Universal, 50's Cold War Era, etc)
7) Japanese or "J-Horror"/Italian (Ringu, Ju-On, Black Sunday, Suspiria, etc)
8) Sci-Fi (Alien, Pandorum, etc)
9) Silent (Dr. Caligari, Der Golem, etc)
10) Occult (Omen, Rosemary's Baby, Exorcist, etc)

This contest will start Friday, October 16, 2009 at 9:00 PM Pacific Standard Time and end Monday, October 19th, 72 hours later.
Drop-off time: Monday, October 19th, from 7 to 9pm.
