Hi, let me introduce myself. I am a computer design engineer that gave up city life and moved to West "Almost Heaven" Virginia. I now work in the Whitewater Rafting industry. What a life changing move, from I-85/285 1+hour commutes to working on a 1400-acre resort.
I used to play classical music in my car, not for the love of the music but so I wouldn't run anybody over....feng-shui. I now walk out of my office and mountain air envelopes me... Birds are singing, a bear is in the trash (no kidding). Don't get me wrong I loved Atlanta, great city with good people but country living is magic! Anyway back to whitewater. I took my first raft trip five years ago and it was more addicting than cigarettes. It was on the New River the second oldest river in the world, there were boulders as big as a houses in a gorge cut by volumes of water rushing northward over a few millenium. we navigated class-V rapids that would swallow a van...What a rush! More later, gotta run the bear is in the trash again.
