But as Paul O'Dette, authority of Renaissance plucked instruments described, a Theorbo most often has single strings, without courses, where the instrument Sting performs on has courses, octave-doubled strings and a much shorter neck than a true theorbo.

The instrument Sting is performing on is without a doubt an Archlute. (Meaning "Big Lute") This a very small fact, but those 500,000+ viewers who have watched this video have been wrongly informed. Thanks again for posting the wonderful videos.
