So, you know the sad Spirit's story and the even more sadder poem I wrote... Maybe it really brought TEARS...

Yes, I did it, but I could not stand it... We knew, that Rain did not die, but he didn't...

I simply could not be so cruel to Spirit, it was not fair to him, I could not leave him in such pain...

So I decided that TEARS would be only the first half of the story, only Spirit's feeling.

And because, as we all know, Rain is still alive, there have to be surely the second part too - the Rain's part, where she's giving him HOPE... The HOPE he needs so desperately...

So I wrote this, it's Rain's Lullaby for Spirit. It's her loving answer to his TEARS. She is comforting him and encouraging him to be strong and not to give up... She loves him... Really loves him...

But again, don't take this too seriously, this is only for test too...

(EDIT: And again I did not notice the stupid grammatical typos I made!!! Can you tell me why I always see them only AFTER upload??? It's a shame... My shame... My English is still very bad... I'm very sorry :-( )

PERSONAL NOTE:
I always loved this movie and the true story behind it.
It's a many months ago now when I firstly got the idea to make a video from Balto with this song, because I don't know any song that could fit more for his story than Hero by Mariah Carey.

But I never managed to start this work - I don't know why, but it's hard for me to start with some new "unknown" movie (that's the reason why I'm so conservative and have only two movies I'm using now) - although I knew the movie very well for many years - the video making is much different than simple watching. So I never dared...

But few days ago I watched the movie again and I decided that I just have to do this - although it will be probably only video from it.

And so I created this... And it's your part of work now to decide if it's good or not - but I still think that this song just fits perfectly for the story - so tell me, is it the same for this video?

Today I'm presenting you my newest music video I created from movie Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, first in year 2009 :-). And I hope it will be not the last too...

It's another illustration of endless love between Spirit and Rain, it's so inspiring... and very fitting for today - Saint Valentine's Day :-)

This time the video looks very simple, not many things seems to be changed from original movie (although it's not quite true, time shifting, cross-fading and camera movements are everywhere - I will explain later), just few scenes from movie put in a row...

And here I would like to tell you the reason for very birth of this "special" video.

Many of you knows that I NEVER made any video on somebody's demand or recommendation - and I never WILL - ALL my videos I ever made were always absolutely incidental.

I made some video, when I got some inspiration, mainly when I heard some song, I suddenly thought out some story inspired by this song lyrics and music and tried to express it in my new music video (that's why I made only few of them till now). I always made some video only when I really felt it.

This video is slightly different. I cannot say that it is result of someone's demand, but... Let me explain...

Some days ago, I was with somebody (who don't want to be named, although you don't know him :-) and there was a radio playing this song. I knew this song before - it's from Cinderella movie.

And then he said something like: "Hey, this is the kind of songs you are making your music videos from - full of love and romance! I think you can take some scenes from the Spirit movie and make something with this song. What do you think about it?"

I said: "Hmm, maybe. But it's not so easy. You just cannot simply take some scene, put it to some song and think that it will work. You know, I'm not working with many visual effects like many of others, I specialize in stories in my videos... Without some good story and song I simply can't do a video. But you have right that this song would be nice as the love story between Spirit and Rain... But the love scenes with them are so sparse in the movie and..."

And then he said: "So take all the scenes, put them in a row, put them to the song and you will see!"

"Nonsense, it will never work! You just cannot...!" I replied. But his reaction was only: "I don't believe you - Show me!"

So I did it, I wanted to prove it to him. I cut out some love scenes from Spirit and combined them randomly with the song. But when I was in the middle of the "needless" work I just moved some scene there and some there and it became to be little more "fitting"... incidentally.

He said: "You see! It works! You cannot dump it now - it's nice!"

"Nah!" I replied.

But nevertheless I made some more changes (mainly in timing, cross-fading and focus) and finished this "forced" work. He liked it and I had to admit that it became not as bad as I supposed, according to how it begun - a demonstration of evident nonsense...

So I really did not dump it, and you can watch it here too, so you can make your own decision... I don't know, maybe someone will like it too. But, please, keep in mind what it was at its beginning...

Well, I really don't know why I'm posting this here... This is NOT any music video I'm usually making; this is NOT even any standard song, because a song text without singing is not any song... And the lyrics for the song are not usual too, they were written for one specific occasion. And they were never intended to release, but only as little test of the possibilities, before finalization with some new music...

But let's start from the beginning...

I wrote these lyrics some time ago, with the music from song God Help The Outcasts from Disney's movie The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

But I must first explain to you, why and for what I did this at all...

Some time ago there was one project (please, don't ask me for any details), in preliminary phase, concerning protecting animals and education about the problem.
They needed, among the other things, some sad songs about mistreated animals, which they wanted to use in their promotional videos. So I tried to make some song, and because the music was not specified yet, I chose, for this test song, this sad music from movie The Hunchback of Notre Dame - the Esmeralda's prayer to God. And I rewrote it from the animals' point of view, as a prayer to US...

And because of the theme and the original intention for it you may find the song little... controversial, I think.

But the project was unfortunately canceled soon and only these lyrics remained to me. Without any original music, without any video footage and without any singer...

And yesterday I accidentally heard the original song on a radio. And I remembered the lyrics. I found this instrumental version of the song and after long time I tried to sing along with it again (Don't want to hear it :-). But it still worked... And I felt sorry for the song - here - forgotten - without any use.

And so, because the project is dead, I decided that I would release the song lyrics now for all. I really don't know if someone may or will like it, but maybe... I don't know...

But, anyway, you can use it for some good reason too, if you want, but if you will do so, please, give me some credit somewhere in your work, if possible... I really put much effort to it... though only for the test.

Because I can post only videos here and I personally DON'T want to make any video with this song, I'm posting the lyrics here in this description and as titles with the instrumental version of the original song. But the true is, that the song "When You Believe" was not the only song I tried to rewrite. There is another one...

It's was nothing new, long time ago I tried to change the excellent end song "I Will Always Return" from Spirit to something else, to a song with my own words...

But it failed... I could not finish it. Because of only one thing - there is no instrumental version of the song available... (Or at least I don't know about it...)

So the song I wrote was for a long time unused with my other old stuff. It was there also with one little poem I wrote to express Spirit's emotions about loss of Rain - feeling of sadness, frustration but about some hope too.

This song and the poem were never intended for publication.

And today?

Nothing has changed yet, I still have no instrumental version of the song, and still no singer. And of course I cannot say myself if the new song lyrics are worth singing anyway...

But I will no longer wait. It's all useless without any people that could watch and judge it...

So here it is - the "poem" and the rewritten end song. I could only little silence the lead voice of the original song - nothing more...

I don't know if someone can like it, but I will try...

Not long ago I heard that they saw some old skinny lioness with dark stripe on her head with Simba's pride. They never saw her before. They didn't recognize her, but I was sure. It was Zira. And now I have proof. They found a letter with my name near Pride Rock. They brought it to me. It was Zira's writing. And here it is:

Dear Dockeeping,

first of all, I must thank you for your help, because I would probably never manage to go back without your support. Yes, I'm back. Back in the place where I was born, with my children, Kovu and Vitani, and with other lions.

I had enough of endless hiding and fear of disclosure. Enough living alone... I took all I had and went to the Pride Rock. I was prepared for everything. Rejection, anger, punishment, or even death. But no, when I got there, tremulous, with fear, they welcomed me! As a friend... Regardless the evil I did in my past.

And then I saw Kovu. He slowly walked to me and... embraced me! For the first time in my life, I had tears in my eyes. His forgiveness was the biggest gift I could ever get. I felt as if my soul was suddenly free, without the hate that devoured it for nearly all my life.

Then Vitani came and embraced me too. She told me that she always knew that I had love in my heart, but that I was too afraid to show it.

And at last, Simba came. I have changed, I no longer felt the hate for him, but he had absolute right to exile me again, or even kill me. Years ago, when I last saw him, I also wanted to do it. Actually, it was my only wish since the time he exiled me from Pride Lands with my children. But he came to me with smile. He said that he was blind too, until Kiara, his daughter, opened his eyes. And that he is happy I made it too. And then he offered me joining his pride. And I accepted it.

Now I live here some time already. And there are the happiest moments of my life.

But I have still one thing to do. Not long ago, Timon, the cute little suricate that lives here with our pride, told me that I must put my past behind me. And forget the bad things. That it will help me. But I don't want to forget it; it will be the part of me forever. But I have one thing I don't need any more. Look in the envelope. There is a piece of paper.

I know you found my secret song it my diary. The "War Song". It was not complete... It had second part, a song where I revealed the blackness of my soul. I don't want to see it again. Please, take it, and if you want, you can finish the part of your story about me... I called the song "My Soul" or "See Who I Am". And fortunately, I hope I can rename it now to "See Who I Was And Who I'll Never Be Again"...

Today I'm here to tell you about something I found.

It is many months now since I saw Zira. And I have no news about her. So I recently returned to the place where I firstly met her. But as I rather expected I did not found her. The place was abandoned very long time ago.

But I found something else. Under a flat rock, I found one page from her diary, which she lent me before. The page seemed to be ripped out of the diary after it was written. Long time ago... She probably had not enough courage to reveal this...

But though I truly respect her, I don't think this is something to hide. So I dare to tell all about it. To tell the truth, I think that this HAS to be revealed to everyone, because it is message for everyone. And maybe it was the first step to her change...

Go on, Zira, I trust you...
