Shout out to Steve Aoki, Ultra Records, and MTV Clubland for supporting this video. I finally got around to uploading this to my own page. In this video, I use Serato and Ableton to perform, as close as possible, my official Ultra remix of "Boneless".
Listen to the studio version of the this remix here:https://soundcloud.com/enfe...
If you watch closely, you'll see some "live looping" in addition to the usual finger percussion, keys, scratching, and turntable trickery. Enjoy and share this video if you support LIVE performance in electronic music.
Here's a little insight to my process, for the techies out there. First I make the track in studio. I mix it down, master it, then bounce all the individual parts (e.g. kick, snare, samples, sometimes instrumental sections) then load them into my Ableton session. I use Drum Racks for the finger percussion parts, VST's for the synths, Loopers for live looping, and launch clips for any instrumental sections where I can't physically play all the drum notes. I use Serato to also finger drum samples as well as to add any scratching and turntable tricks.
