My wife and I were in absolute bits when these two started their act. Funny as hell.
I uploaded this as the others available on YouTube are, for some silly reason, squashed to 4:3 ratio instead of 16:9 widescreen. Enjoy.

Demonstration - Rally for Cyprus 2007 P1 grokked - 877 views - 1 year ago
Demonstration organised by the National Federation of Cypriot Organisations - this is the beginning of the protest, assembling at the Embankment and marching past Parliament and Big Ben at the Palace of Westminister, and past Downing Street in Whitehall.

This "Rally for Cyprus" marks 33 years since the Turkish Invasion of the island of Cyprus. Turkey continues to keep its settlers and a 40,000 strong army in the territory it has occupied since the invasion in 1974 following a coup against President Makarios by the Greek junta which ruled Greece at that time. Marchers attending the Rally for Cyprus chant "Turkish Troops out of Cyprus" and call on the Brown Government in Britain to use its influence as a guarantor power to ensure that a solution is found that is acceptable to all the people of Cyprus. The European Union (EU) is called upon to use its influence during Turkey's accession negotiations to contribute to finding a just solution for Cyprus which respects the acquis communautaire and puts an end to Turkey's continuing human rights violations in Cyprus.

Your comments are totally laughable mshefik1. There were no Turks in Asia-Minor let alone Cyprus until 900 years ago. Cyprus throughout history has always been Greek. The Cypriot king Evagoras the Great conquered half of Asia-Minor in 400 BC and was recognised as an equal by the king of Persia while the Turks were still living in Mongolia. The Cypriot king Teucer the son of Telamon and cousin of Achilles was part of the Greek army which conquered Troy in 1183/2 BC. Achaean (Mycenaean) Greek culture has been shown to have existed in Cyprus since 1600 BC and before that Cretan (Minoan) Greek culture existed there with the Cypriot Linear script (the sister script of Linear A) being used to write Greek continuously up until the time of Evagoras alongside Greek Phoenician script, the oldest extant inscriptions of which, dating back to 800 BC were found in Cyprus.

Cyprus is known historically and archeologically to have been a Greek speaking and Greek populated island since Minoan and Mycenaean times. It was under the direct rule of the Byzantine Greek Empire before it was occupied by the Franks, Venitians and Turks. Prior to Byzantine and Roman times Cyprus was ruled by its own Greek kings whose names are known from Greek writers and Assyrian inscriptions dating back 3,000 years. On top of that the Cypriot kings Evagoras the Great (Isocrates IX 54/65-66) and Evagoras II (Diodorus 16.46.1) ruled over Asia-Minor which is now Turkey, which was populated by Greeks, Armenians/Phrygians and Medes/Kurds since Mycenaean and Minoan times also. It is Turkey which belongs to Greece and Cyprus not the other way round.

The "Treaty of Guarantee" did not allow for the use of force or unilateral intervention in Cyprus internal affairs, since that would violate the UN Charter. The UN Security Council made this perfectly clear to Turkey in Resolution 186(1964) and ruled that the Turkish invasion was illegal in Resolution 353(1974) and all subsequent resolutions. The CoE has also made it perfectly clear that Turkeys invasion of Cyprus was illegal and it had no right to unilateral intervention to use force in Cyprus.

The Akritas plan was a plan for democratising the Cyprus constitution so that it complied with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, in a peaceful manner within the law, and dealing with Turkish state sponsored terrorism which was Turkey's answer to democracy, with minimal use of force. Turkey began a campaign of state sponsored terror against both Greek and Turkish Cypriots in December 1963 when a Turkish Cypriot terrorist who was stopped by a police patrol attempted to shot dead a Cypriot policeman and was subsequently killed.

The Turkish action in Cyprus was not an unwarranted invasion. The Standing Committee of the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe ruled, July 29 1974, the "Turkey exercised its right of intervention in accordance with Article IV of the Treaty of Guarantee."

Cyprus is over 600 miles away from Greece. It has never been under Greek rule through out history. Before the Ottomans arrived, it belonged to the Venetians. Turks have been on the island for over 500 years.

Turkiye only acted to save us from genocide!
