THE MASH (SOUR MASH - SOUR MASH TRIO) 2006 - Present

The Mash is a blend of various roots music. Ranging from rhythm and blues, rock steady ska, reggae, rock, and various others styles and rhythms utilizing these sounds in order to create a feel good blend, with each batch of original sour mash flavor delivered being new and exciting. This band allows the music to take control and often times the jams are directed by the audience's response and participation - with many original tunes as well as a myriad of covers such as Prince, Elmore James, Ray Charles, Buddy Guy, Bob Dylan, the mash is guaranteed to get your body movin!

Brief Story
The real SOUR MASH originally called The Sour Mash Trio formed in 2006 by Aaron and Todd(3rd Alley, Mike Pinto) of Bargain Music with Kyle Hughes (The Delirians) on upright bass. The trio recorded a 2 song demo in December 2006 and gigged extensively. During the recording of their debut Lp "whiskey Mornings" the group dissolved Todd had joined 3rd Alley. After gigin the next year solo Aaron found Matt Schafer of San Pedro's own jam band Fat20 and along with Ryedawg from Profusion on bass the trio was thus reformed again. Then the trio found Kyle again an decided to have Kyle drum half a set so Matt could play Keys and sing and the Sour Mash Experience was born. In late 2008 Kyle left and the band took a break later to reform with Aaron's father on 2nd guitar Gil Jones. Sour Mash is best experienced live as no set is ever the same impromptu jamz, random covers, guest appearances and nasty grooves from blues,reggae,rocksteady,rock,country, to hip hop we keeps it Mashin!
