I hope to bring awareness about the REAL popular music of the late 1920's and early 1930's.

There is a reason that "Hot" and "Race" recordings are rare today. Audiences were not interested and they sold very few copies. Ironically, music collectors today are mainly interested in these obscure recordings that were often cheaply and poorly made.

The history of 1920's music has been re-written to reflect the tastes of modern collectors and does not reflect reality. I have often read books which claim to tell the real history of 1920's music, only to find that household names such as Paul Whiteman, Ted Lewis, Nick Lucas, Harold Scrappy Lambert, etc. are ignored or dismissed while the text dwells on musicians that were practically unknown at the time.

Interests and Hobbies: MAKE YOUTUBE VIDEOS OF 78's IN 4 EASY STEPS It's easy to place your old 78's online. 1. Download AUDACITY, WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER, and LAME MP3 ENCODER. These are all free and can be found at www.download.com. 2. Connect your modern phonograph using RCA cables to your computer. (You will need to buy a cheap cable which converts the RCA slot to headphone jack type jack on your computer) Connect the cable to the slot on your computer's LINE IN slot, next to the one for your speakers. 3. Run Audacity. Hit the record button and play a record. Once the record stops, edit the film easily on Audacity. They convert it to an MP3 file. 4. Use Windows Movie Maker to make a movie. Simply make titles and add the mp3 file and VOILA your finished. :)
