Short answer is yes! that's exactly the kind of computer this product works well with. Long answer is you need to research if the computer is powerful enough to play Blu-ray movies. We have minimum system specs on the ArcSoft TotalMediaExtreme 2 product page.

Hi All, Yes the DIGISTOR External Blu-ray burner does work with Lion as long as you have Blu-ray burning software installed. To burn blu-ray data or videos you can use Toast 11 for Mac OS 10.7. The Mac OS does not have the ability to play back blu-ray movies, however.
