It would be good training for scuba diving but it is an aquatic boot camp to just get in shape. I used to be a deep sea diver in the Army and I put people through some similar aspects of my training.

I was a deep sea diver in the Army and we had to do hundreds and I mean HUNDREDS... Once you get used to doing them, it is mind over matter. HOOYAH! They were definitely not banned when I was in dive school nor when I got to my unit. ;)

The main thing you have to worry about is not being an E5 or above. You can be an E4 P but anything more and you will not qualify. The reason for that is, divers need to be qualified in diving to be in charge. So why would an E5 automatically be in charge of an E4 with way more dive experience...
