I have been playing guitar since the age of 13 when I was first inspired by Hank Marvin and Bruce Welch of The Shadows. I later received inspiration from rock bands of the 1960s and later still, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page, from listening to Cream and Led Zeppelin.
From listening to Bob Dylan, my interests ventured into fingerstyle acoustic playing, after which I received further inspiration from acoustic guitar masters, John Renbourne and Bert Jansch.
Listening to recordings of Segovia, Julian Bream and John Williams, inspired me to pursue Classical Guitar seriously.
I have a broad solo classical reportoire of music from the 16th to 20th century that is perfect for elegant and cultural occasions and has given audiences/clients the unique atmosphere they desire with an impeccable presentation.
Additionally, I have a large solo Acoustic Blues and Celtic reportoire which my audiences/clients have found most entertaining and inspiring.
Finally, I have an electric guitar reportoire that people find ideal for partys and functions - 1950s Rock n Roll, to the Swinging 60s, 70s and 80s.
I have recently recorded a CD entitled Utopia, a unique album featuring a variety of guitar styles, including three of my own compositions, which has sold well with excellent feedback.
I was the winner of the Guitar Class at the 2008 Devon Performing Arts Festival.
I am currently teaching the guitar to a wide age range of children and adults.
