I'm not crazy about this stupid war either but I am American and you probabaly hate me just for that fact alone. Great comment in your description. I feel the same, mostly. I have sympathy for the poor suckers who joined in peacetime to improve their lot in life, then got sent to die for Dubya, but I still think they should have gone AWOL immediately after receiving their orders. Sadly, most of them are brainwashed dupes and think they're doing the right thing.

As for those who joined after the invasion, I consider them my "domestic enemies," to quote the outdated sheepskin they thump as justification. They're making my life more perilous by inflaming hatred against me.

And yes, poor brown people are relentlessly fucked by the US. We exploit them economically and threaten them when they resist our right-wing social-Darwinist policies (see South America). If we want their resources bad enough, we make good on our threats.

And we keep our own poor and brown people in a condition that the military looks like a sweet gig, so we can exploit them, too.

You just don't get it. Carl Sagan was one of the most brilliant, kind and gentle persons to have lived on this planet. His goal was to promote science and the prospertity of all humankind. You let your personal hatred blind you towards what should be the goal of all humans, lesson suffering amoung the living on our planet. Somehow, I think Dr. Sagan would not be surprised, just disappointed. Your attitude will not help your or those who you feel you represent. It just buttresses existing beliefs against muslims.
