I am a old school talkbox artist who was taught guitar and keys from Roger Troutman. Yes I was friends with Roger long before he got signed.
Yes I am blessed to have this child prodigy show me the ways of the blues scale. In return I turned him on to Jimi Hendrix and also suggested that he get signed with Warner Brothers. this was 7 years before he met Bootsy! I am also the guy that drove him to Cincinnati to play a instrument i couldnt figure out. That instrument was a korg vocoder! He taught me so much! I have many great stories to share about roger before the money. He was my best musician friend. He asked me to play the bass synthesizer the day "we" first heard the Zapp sound. I am the first to play the famous Zapp bass in the world! It was just Lester, Roger and me...we funked it up!! The song was "I wish" by Stevie Wonder.
