About Me:
 
Daddy Cool is an Australian band (based in Melbourne) which dominated the charts downunder during the early 1970s. Led by Ross Wilson they became the most successful Australian rock act of their day. Strongly influenced by early R&B as well as 30s Delta Blues, their first album 'Daddy Who? Daddy Cool' harked back affectionately to 1950s rock & roll and doo-wop and their repertoire included a number of cover versions of classic 1950s American R&B hits, mixed with strong original compositions one of which, 'Eagle Rock', has become an Oz Rock classic.

They formed in 1970, split in 1972 and briefly reformed in 1974-1975, 1995 and from 2005 to date.

In 2006, Daddy Cool was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame along with Lobby Lloyd and several others. They also released a well received album of new material 'The New Cool'. The band now currently exists on a part-time basis.

I have an old album here (1971) with a white label (I guess it is a promotional copy). My brother who was working for a record company in The Netherlands, gave me this album when I was 10 years old. It has always been one of my favourites!
