This time I specified "640x x 360" in MKV's aspect ratio options, uploaded the video, downloaded Youtube's MP4 file and opened it in AvsP.

Once again Youtube decided to stretch the 480 x 360 source *vertically* to 480 x 270 instead of horizontally to 640 x 360. In short, you cannot rely on MKV's advanced options and have to re-encode your videos manually to the final display size.

I uploaded an MKV file with a resolution of 480 x 360 pixels, and I specified a "16/9" aspect ratio in the MKV options. Ideally this should tell any player to stretch horizontally to a size of 640 x 360 pixels, leaving the number of lines intact.

Youtube doesn't display black borders, so it understands MKV aspect ratios. So far, so good. For some reason though the browser interface doesn't allow accessing the very first frame (index 0).

I then downloaded Youtube's video file (fmt=18, an MP4 file), and loaded it into AvsP. The result is disappointing: Youtube opted to stretch *vertically*, to a size of 480 x 270 pixels, which of course results in loss of visual quality.

This leaves one final test - specifying the display size directly in the MKV options.

Shooting puzzle "doujin" game by Mount Punch (not by Kyoto Animation). It is modeled after the novel-based anime "Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu" (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya).

When I used Fraps to record a video of the game, I noticed that the game's speed dropped from 60 fps to 30 fps (my computer is old and relatively slow). So I reduced the tempo of the games' sound files also to 50 percent, recorded my gameplay (took lots of tries), and sped up the video back to 100 percent.
The result is essentially a TAS (tool-assisted speedrun) - although not of the same quality as other TASes because the game doesn't support rerecords (savestates), so rewinding is not possible.
