The "Kindergarten4TheArts" has chosen some of Florida's own "Hermies" as our class pets. We LOVE hermit crabs! Here's a video of one of our females (Shelby) changing her shell. She needs a shell to protect her soft abdomen and "hermie hiney" as the kids call it!

Emo: it can vary and there is actually a better method for acclimating new crabs that doesn't allow them to burrow in the first month. Come visit us on the website and we can give you some real hands on help. crabstreetjournal.com

I found your newest video on painted crab shells very insightful. I have 3 hermit crabs and know how much they hate painted shells, and how they are much more than a throw away pet! Keep up the good work of spreading the truth about this industry!
