This September, Cosmopolitan kicked off a nationwide search for the next fun fearless female rockstar. Over 500 artists submitted music videos on YouTube, which were then narrowed down to the Top 10 semi-finalists by a judging panel of A&R professionals. You, the online community, then voted to choose the top 3. All 3 finalists then performed live on December 5th in NYC at Terminal 5 as they opened a concert for Natasha Bedingfield with Special Guest Solange Knowles. After tallying online votes, in-house audience votes and votes from our esteemed panel of industry judges (Sylvia Rhone, David Novik and Mike Mangini), Cosmo's 2008 StarLaunch winner was chosen--MIEKA PAULEY!

Mieka won $10,000 cash, a 3-track demo produced by a hit-making record producer (Mike Mangini), ready to shop to labels, the opportunity to perform at up to 10 Cosmopolitan-sponsored events and memberships to SESAC (a performing rights organization for music artists and publishers) and FanBridge (a premier fan management solutions for musicians)!
