About the William J. Clinton Foundation
President Bill Clinton started the William J. Clinton Foundation to address some of our world's most profound challenges. The Foundations seven initiatives combat climate change, HIV/AIDS, childhood obesity in the U.S., and promote economic opportunity worldwide. The Clinton Global Initiative convenes its annual meeting every September, bringing together global leaders in business, government, and philanthropy to take action on these and other pressing challenges.
Today we have 1,300 staff and volunteers working in more than 40 countries worldwide. To date, our work has helped 2 million people living with HIV/AIDS access lifesaving medicines. 40 cities are working to reduce their carbon emissions. Millions of kids have pledged to live healthier lives. And more than 1,300 Commitments to Action have been made by members of the Clinton Global Initiative, already improving 200 million lives in more than 150 countries.
