Not your traditional Stand-Up Paddleboard the Kaholo is your perfect distance or workout board. With its kayak inspired bow and flat aft section the Kaholo tracks like a dream and is amazingly stable under foot. At fourteen feet long it is not meant for large wave riding but if you have small ankle to knee high sets rolling through you'll be amazed at how early you can catch a ride and the speed the board carries. If you're not near the beach you will find it equally enjoyable on the flat waters of a lake or exploring winding rivers.
The Kaholo SUPs are among our easiest-to-build kits. Panels are precision-cut on our computerized equipment, with puzzle-joints and pre-drilled stitching holes for fast and accurate assembly. Sheathed in fiberglass inside and out, the Kaholo will withstand real-world abuse on gravel or shell beaches.

Over the last 15 years, CLC boatbuilding classes have launched 900 boats and introduced more than a thousand students to the joys of boatbuilding. CLC has been hosting and teaching build-your-own-boat classes since 1994. Our talented professional instructors will help you assemble your own boat from start to finish. Most classes are 5-1/2 days---a perfect one-week vacation, with your own boat to take home, ready for finish work. View CLC's current class schedule at http://www.clcboa...
The Annapolis Wherry is modeled after the graceful 19th century livery boats used on the River Thames. She is, however, lighter and slimmer, combining breathtaking grace with thoroughbred performance under oars. Solid stability, sea-kindly lines, a buoyant bow, and ample flare make the Wherry a natural choice for rowing in choppy water. While fixed seats are standard, the Annapolis Wherry is primarily a sliding-seat boat. With the Piantedosi Row Wing installed, cruising speeds easily reach 5 to 7 knots. The Annapolis Wherry may be unsurpassed as a rowing trainer, exercise boat, long-distance cruiser, or open-water racer.
The Annapolis Wherry is made of 6mm okoume plywood with 9mm okoume plywood frames, thwarts and flotation tanks. Outwales, breasthook and quarter knees are solid mahogany. The boat is built using the LapStitchTM construction technique. Traditional lapstrake boatbuilding employs molds over which planks are nailed or riveted together. By using precision-rabbeted, computer-cut plank shapes and frames which double as molds, a CLC LapStitch kit boat is wired together just like a stitch-and-glue kayak. When glued with small epoxy fillets, the planks create a stiff and strong hull that will last for fifty years. Learn more about the Annapolis Wherry here: http://www.clcboa...

Of all the classes we've taught in the last 15 years, "Build Your Own Skerry" is the most popular, always full and usually with a waiting list. In this class, you'll build your own Skerry, a rowing-sailing boat of Nordic heritage.
The Skerry is that rare boat that combines excellent rowing and sailing qualities into one attractive craft. This is the perfect boat in which to mount an expedition in protected waters, cruising from beach to beach and camping on shore. Sail when there's wind, row when there's not - you'll cover a lot of miles either way. The sprit rig is easy to handle, powerful for its size, and stows inside the hull for trailering. The hull is stable and buoyant, whether you're running in choppy seas or lifting over motorboat wakes. The skilled oarsman will savor the Skerry's smooth glide and rough-water handling. Capacity is three adults, yet you can cartop the 95-pound Skerry on anything larger than a Civic.
The hull utilizes CLC's patented LapStitch construction method, in which stitch-and-glue techniques are used to create lapstrake hulls of traditional appearance. First, the Skerry's seven hull planks are glued to length using scarf joints. The planks are wired together to create the hull shape, then bulkheads are inserted before the planks are neatly "welded" together with epoxy. The students reinforce the hull with fiberglass cloth and mahogany rails, then add the daggerboard trunk and seats. Learn more about CLC's Skerry here: http://www.clcboa...

One of the most popular kayaks CLC has ever offered, the Shearwater is an elegant, performance-oriented touring kayak. The "tumble home" sheer panel reduces windage and improves paddle clearance. The Shearwater features CLC's trademark cambered deck. The West Greenland style hard-chined hull has naturally easy and controllable handling for the skilled paddler and comfortable stability for the newer paddlers. The hull shape ensures good tracking even in windy and rough conditions.
The deck is cut from "Sapele" mahogany plywood for extra good looks and natural contrast with the Okoume hull and sheer panel. The clean lines of the Shearwater make it one of the "sexiest" kayaks on the market. Learn more about CLC's Shearwater Kayaks here: http://www.clcboa...
