"Imagine..." To realize dreams, to transform them into moving images - this is what cinematography has been about since its beginning. This medium, combining imagination and technology in a unique and fascinating way, has created increasingly realistic illusions in its over 100 year history. And often one could not determine afterwards what came first: the filmmaker`s untamable imagination, or the technology that made it possible to capture it on film. Thus the history of film is also the history of film technology.
