Starting this project, I wanted to do something where the colors would represent something. I thought about semiotics and it brought me to the idea to use colors to represent emotion. I picked the emotion 'anger' and decided to use the color 'red' to represent that. In most cases, the color red is for warnings, caution, and danger.

I used the two universal colors white and black in order to ultimately emphasize the red. The color red in my piece represents anger and in this case it's Real World Denver Brooke's boiling point. The white gradually fades to red to show that initially the arguement starts off weak then as the red gets darker, it shows that the arguement level has risen and the two girls are arguing even louder with more temper. Then when Brooke finally explodes, I used black to get that flash effect, as if it were a siren. So basically, I used this style of editting to show first of all the color of anger and to show human emotion through the representation of color with familiar visuals.

I decided to use this sound clip because it really captured what I initially had in mind for my project. I remember watching this Real World episode 2 years ago and this scene definitely remained with me until now. To this day, I think this is the craziest blowup I've seen on reality tv. (less info)
