大型民族歌舞《碧海云天金银滩》2008年7月在青海省海北藏族自治州州府西海镇首演，集中展示了生活在青藏高原东北部的藏族人民的独特歌舞、服饰、习俗和宗教文化，将当代高原藏族人民幸福生活场景完美地展现在了观众面前。

在青藏高原东北部的黄金盆地 — 青海省海北藏族自治州门源回族自治县，生活着一支自称为华热巴的藏族，也被人称为华热藏族，意为英雄部落。华热巴能歌善舞，说唱艺术别具风采，他们创造的华热藏戏主要演绎民间故事、历史传说，展示歌舞、工艺服饰等民俗文化，被誉为藏戏艺术中的一朵奇葩。其中，华热藏族服饰追求精美、华贵的古风，色彩鲜艳、图案丰富、配饰琳琅满目，2008年6月被列入第二批国家级非物质文化遗产名录。

歌舞剧《碧海云天金银滩》从地域文化入手，将华热藏族原生态的歌舞、六弦琴弹唱、宗教音乐等民间艺术元素巧妙融合在神山、圣湖、碧草、家园四个乐章中，通过大量现代电视艺术手段和充满诗情画意的舞台表演手法，展现独树一帜的华热藏族民俗风情，颂扬人与自然和谐、人与宗教和谐及各民族团结和睦。
