RaKeeM a.k.a. cHiEfRoCkA 4 ReaL was born in the late 70´s in Munich "Dirty" South Germany. His roots come from Germany and Pakistan, Persia and Kashmere. When he was a little boy he loved breakdancing and he still remembers when he saw that movie "Beat Street" in the theaters the first time and he also remembers when he just ran out of the cinema afterwards and startet to do windmills and headspins in front of all people. More and more he got interested in the rap music scene and bought his first records like "Beat Street OST Vol. 1", "Ice-T - Rhyme Pays", "Salt ´n´ Pepa - Push it 12"" and many more. He broke a few of them and a few of his parents´though while he tried to scratch with them on an ordinary turntable without using a slipmat. He started to make music on a commodore 64, then on a Commodore Amiga 500 and after that on a Pentium 1 PC. Before he intensely started to make hip hop beats he produced a few trance, techno and ambient tracks under the name DragonEye. On his first composed beats he mixed accapellas of several rap songs like "DAS EFX - Microphone Master", "Queen Latifah - Just another day", "Onyx - All we got is us" and many more. RaKeeM loves US Hip Hop from the 90´s and collected many vynils of artists like Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Naughty by Nature, Redman, Method Man, Mobb Deep, Ill Al Skratch and many more. Right now he is workin on his second album "Gelegenheitsrapper" which will be unlike his first release "Join the club" rapped completely in german. Only for exceptions, several projects or international collabos you might hear him rappin in english. RaKeeM never grew up in a ghetto and has never been a gangsta or a criminal and thats the reason that he is not a gangsta rapper so why would he pretend being someone he aint. He loves the music itself, he loves to create a piece completely on his own. RaKeeM writes, raps, composes beats, scratches, mixes, masters and he even produced his first music video all by himself!
