I finished converting my mountain bike today. I ditched the derailers and cassette and bought spacers and single sprocket off charlie. I also bought a chain tensioner to take up the slack ( again bought off charlie). I went the whole hog and put a single speed chainset on aswell but you dont need to do that. I bought a new chain and a spare half link aswell so everything matches. Buy from Charlie, he only sells top quality gear at a damned good price.

hey ive been wanting to change my bike to singlespeed for ages. I did it but havnt got a singlespeed cog and still using my cassette which has 7 cogs on it. Is terhe a probelm with doing this or do you recommend a singlespeed cog?
oo and does it matter if my chain is really tight? vids helped a lot aswell, thanks. |
