Geekologie - Gadgets, Gizmos, and Awesome blogged Wheeee!: Guy Rides Snowmobile Off The Edge Of A Cliff 13 hours ago
I'm flying, Jack! This is an ad for GoPro featuring some guy riding a snowmobile off the edge of a cliff, sitting on it for awhile while airborne, then ditching it to crash below while he parachutes off to safety. I found it a pretty controversial ad because like, GoPro killed a perfectly good snowmobile. I doubt it signed up for that. That snowmobile might have had a family and you took their father away from them. *bashing keyboard* YOU TOOK IT ALL AWAY. Damn I should have eaten something b...

This is a video of a bunch of friends taking turns using an Oculus Rift virtual reality headset to experience the moments before being decapitated by a guillotine. It looks like fun. And it would have been even more fun if somebody would have smacked them in the back of the neck with a broom handle when the blade was falling. Hit the jump for the video. Thanks to PYY, who agrees if you have to get your head cut off, virtual reality is definitely the way to go.

This is a computer graphics clash between the forces of Star Wars and Star Trek in and above San Francisco. Who wins? I'm not saying, that would be a spoiler. I'm joking, the video's called 'Death Star Destroys Enterprise'. It's a special extended re-release of this crappier version made in 2009. Can you believe I remembered that? ME NEITHER. This is a short video of French bicyclist François Gissy setting a new world record by hitting 263km/h (~163mph) on a hydrogen peroxide powered rocket bike. That seems dangerous. I've probably hit 25mph on my bike before and I felt like my face was going to melt off. Then I hit a curb trying to dodge a dead opossum and melted both my knees and the palm of one hand off. People at work would get all offended when I wouldn't shake hands and I'd have to show it to them and they'd be all, "Whoa --...

Jk, I think they're in Utah. Smart decision both wearing yellow command uniforms though, it would have been a shame if one opted for a red shirt and the next video had to be a solo. Or, should I say, Sulu? "That doesn't make any sense." Nothing does anymore. *throws smoke bomb, retreats to bathroom* Hit the ju...

This is a DVD with a special heat-activated label on top that changes from black to a photo of a pizza and smells like a pizza when heated up in your DVD player. When heated up in a toaster oven? It smells even better. In partnership with 10 local video rental stores, Domino's printed special labels with flavored varnish on movie discs including Argo, James Bond, and The Dark Knight. As the discs heat up, the label's movie title is gradually replaced with an image of a pizza. And, once the mo...

This is the video shown to participants in a study conducted by the University of Duisburg-Essen to determine if humans feel empathy towards tortured robots. Basically it's some guy hanging and beating a Pleo robotic dinosaur for a minute straight. The test is obviously flawed because I hate robots with all my coal-black heart but I still don't want to see a DINOSAUR getting tortured. A humanoid robot? A humanoid robot I'd pay to take a swing at with a crowbar. Also, not to brag or anything, ...

It's a jocular take on the difficulty of learning the rules of a game you've never played before. Me?
