Western released in 1969 by National General Pictures.
Almost all the violence from the script was left out, because at the time there was some talk about movie violence. Because they didn't care of making a movie that is above average, they made "Charro!" almost without violence. Western without violence.. Also Ina Balin's nude scene was cut, but can be found on many different websites.
The film started shooting in July 22 and wrapped on August 30, 1968. Film's budget was $1,500,000 and U.S. gross just about the same. The film grossed probably few million dollars in other countries, it was released here in Finland too.
Many sources say that this film was part of the deal that Elvis made for his 1968 TV special which included TV special and one movie. But the fact is, that this movie wasn't part of the contract, it was Elvis' last film "Change of Habit". It's a tremendous film, go look for it.
"Charro!" was released by Warner Bros. on DVD one year ago.
