I've been stretching my ears for a little under 8 months, Just reached 9/16s last month. About 2 and a half weeks ago, I took out my plugs and right now they are at a 14g. So a 00g/0g is not the point of no return. Your ears vary and it depends on the elasticity and nourishment of them.
Also, I hear people say that if you blowout your ears, you have to get them surgically fixed or they won't close up ever--I blew them both out and like I said, 14g in under 3 weeks. Treat your ears with respect.
