Born into a musical family, Carson was trained at a very young age to appreciate timeless music, including rock & soul of the 60s. The Seattle songwriter is described as a refined Joe Cocker and his live shows have drawn sold-out crowds. His mother (a professional singer herself) and his record-collecting father banned the "offensive lyrics" found on commercial radio, so Carson and his sisters grew up listening to the classics. He was educated by classical artists like Bach and Beethoven with daily piano lessons, but he really loved the honest soul of artists like Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, and James Taylor.
Carson's newest project, 100 HOURS, was co-produced by Carson & Grammy winning engineer Kory Kruckenburg, and mastered by Brian Lucey (the Black Keys, The Shins). It includes a 48-minute documentary that examines the creative and recording processes involved in writing and tracking an entire album in under 100 straight waking hours.
