George Andrix. Canadian Trilogy for Cello Solo was written as a homage to Canada. It was written for an abstract painting exhibit of Dutch/Canadian painter Erik Visser. You will hear the first notes of the Canadian anthem in harmonics in the first movement, in between a lot of "rumble". The 2nd movement is all pizzicato! The third has a reference to fiddling.
