1. Youth Pass

We propose the creation of a YOUTH PASS for ages 12-21, costing $10/month ($12.50/month in summer), working from the start of service to 11pm, Monday through Saturday including holidays and summer, available at Charlie Card machines. Many other cities have similar pass programs. The Student Pass has severe limitations, and with fare increases over the last few years, YOUTH NEED A WAY ON THE MBTA!

2. Bus Increases

We propose increases in bus service on routes that are used heavily by young people, yet remain over-crowded or infrequent. Smoother and faster service will also increase youth safety on the buses by decreasing over-crowding and wait time at bus stops. Buses are the primary mode of transportation for many Boston-area youth and students, yet the MBTA invests far less money per rider in Quality Bus Service than in the train or (especially) commuter rail. NO MORE 2nd CLASS for YOUTH BUS RIDERS!
