Brian, I was in the audience for the Buddy Rich "Time Check" performance in 1981 at the Jerry Lewis telethon. It was awesome. I was 18 and played trombone in the "McDonald's All-American High School Jazz Band" that also played the telethon that weekend. Do you know who else was in the band with me? 18 year olds Eric Myashiro and Chris Botti. What a band! I think we played Count Basie's "Kid From Redbank" and Maynard's "Gospel John" at the telethon. Do you have those recorded by any chance?

Thank you kindly for the Vintage Count Basie vids...my dad led that band to two Grammy wins in the 90's...he was Grover Mitchell! It's great to show my kids what their grandfather looked like as a young man...YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!! Gail xxx
