Kent, could you please tell me if during induction or even well past it, if you ever cared about calories? Did you ONLY count carbs???

it does not seem fair that we have severely curbed our eating habits for a month just to discover that it was mostly water we lost and will gain back in a matter of days on our trip??? I thought induction on atkins was only 2 weeks then you moved on to more carbs? I did order the book you suggested and it should be here any day. I read it about 20 years ago but don't remember much.......Isn't there some way to move on to more carbs now so that by the time our TRIP OF A LIFETIME!!! won't be ruined? I am a sugar person and I haven't had sugar is sooo long, and i kept thinking just 2 more months, then just 1 more month then my husband left for 3 lousey days and came back 15 lbs heavier......it's crazy

HELP!! My husband went on a 3 day "man trip" and GAINED 15 POUNDS!!! He is very very dilligent at home....won't even take a bite of of a dish that has more than 1 carb......And the same goes for me. Not with alcohol but with anything else, I GAIN, NOT STALL!!!! As I mentioned to you before, we are going on a European vacation starting the 19th of next month. We and especially me, (I am tiny 4ft 10in) and every pound shows and makes a huge difference in my wardrobe! I cannot afford to go backwards before or on the vacation but there is no way I am going to count calories, fats or carbs on my VACATION....so those are my 2 issues I need help on...Why did he gain 15 pounds in 3 days and am I going to gain my weight back on our trip.

Quick question, when you ran your marathon did you have to up your carb intake for that event? How many carbs do you currently consume on a regular basis? I had a bad experience running 6 miles the other day and dont know if it was due to a very low carb intake for a week or just not eating too much before the run. I am trying to work out a plan utilizing a lower carb solution because it worked for me in the past but I was not a runner that time.

Thanks for responding so quickly. I had already decided to take the aspartame out of my diet...Goodbye my lovely Diet Dr Pepper...for a while. LOL....Anyways, I had not heard anything about doing away with ALL the fake sweeteners like Stevia etc....Just that the Aspartame would stall you .......Hmmm I am a junk food junky and if I don't feed that sweet tooth something there is a high chance i will binge...sigh....so if a little sweet and Low or Stevia help then I thank God....but if they are stalling me, then I have to make a clean break.

Induction Flu knocked me off my feet for a week. I thought I had swine flu.....Worst thing EVER!!! But I digress....Please, if you can, HELP ME figure out what I am doing wrong....Oh, FYI my daughter was put on this diet by her Doctor who also gave her a b 12 shot and Phentermine. Unbeknowest to each other, I too got a b 12 shot and phentermine from my doctor about three days before she told me about this extreme version of atkins.....I don't take the Phentermine very often and when I do, I break them up so as not to get any side effects...Maybe that's the problem or maybe it's the Diet Dr. Pepper....I just don't know.

Hi, and please HELP.....I am going to Paris the 19th of next month and i cannot go FAT. I have to lose 18 lbs PERIOD! I have been on a stricter version of the low carb diet for over 3 weeks and I have lost a big whopping 1 pound......My daughter has lost 21 lbs and my husband is also doing well.....The only difference that I can see is that they get some, not a bunch, but some exercise and I am disabled.....Usually I can still do the treadmill but have not been physically up to it since starting this diet.  But good grief, we are only allowed 5 carbs a day and I was a MASSIVE CARB and SUGAR ADDICT. to be continuted below lol

I am diabetic type 2, , high blood pressure and cholesterol. Otherwise the picture of health.
I am on the Weight Watchers Program. Weight loss is easy but keeping it off is another story.
Your cauliflower recipes are nice but I will skip the cream.
I live in Brooklyn, NY and just came back from the supermarket this morning where they had fresh cauliflowers .98 ea. and Pritikin low sodium veg. broth .50 per can so you know whats cooking here!
