He's presented shows on BBC Radios 1, 2, 3, 4, 4Xtra, 5 Live, 6 Music, BBC LDN and the World Service. He currently hosts two weekly shows on BBC Radio 6 Music.

He was an early supporter of Rock Against Racism and remains an active campaigner for Amnesty International and gay/bisexual rights.
