How the embers turned into fire. The Campfire Series story.
So it all started with a whiteboard, a brownman, and a brownman-caucasian. It was a stressful day for most of us (particularly me and Shannon) in Global Village Academy that day. The boss asked us to think up of ways to get students to attend our classes, a particularly cool way of enticing people to learn and most of all to build their confidence. So we locked ourselves up in room 304 that night and brainstormed away and what we came up with was utmost brilliance. We had one vision in mind--people gathered around a campfire. The concept was pretty simple. One just has to know what a campfire session is, what goes on, the mood, the atmosphere, the camaraderie of people. And we thought of bringing that inside the classroom. We always knew people learn better from each other, through interaction, and through visual and aural stimulation, but most of all, through openness. Hence, we came up with the Campfire Series, where everyone is each other's student and teacher, where the only way to build confidence is through learning and belief in ourselves.
