learn to recover in the air in a off balance situation and get a shot off.
That means - jump a bit towards the defender wen they bump u - this will cause u to fade away and get a foul AND a score. This move will also get ur defender out balance. Practice vertical jump and a soft shot with and without using the backboard. Keep ur albow in and same shot everytime... make ur shot a reflex and concentrate on keeping ur balance. U should get a foul call quite often this way... so be ready with ur "killer" freethrow :D |

Start weight lifting if your age appropriate, and work on your jump-shot. Working on your vertical leap and upper body, also lie down on your back and shoot the ball in the air 2 get your shot better. Pretty much just train your self as much as possible..... Remember 2 stretch a lot! (not Bouncing)

do a lot of pushups, helps with weight and strength, and if they collapse, then work on finding the open man

learn to shoot, get good low and wide position on D and rebounding, work on your finishing and passing for when those guys collapse on you.

Here's a question I'll throw out there for everyone to answer. I'm 5'11.5" and 135 pounds so I'm wiry and thin. I love bball but my only weakness is that I can't shoot to save my life. Whenever I play I can never do anything because everyone pushes his weight against me so I get outmuscled for rebounds and I can't drive to the hoop because as soon as I go closer then all the meatier guys cave in on me and I can't do anything...ANY SUGGESTIONS???

I agree that Better Basketball is a great way for players to improve, but not that many would spend $29.95 just for one DVD. Seriously, are you kidding?
