The shift is really hitting the fan. And in "100% Happy 88% of the Time" Beth takes the 'ow' out of now and puts the 'ha' in change.

It's not just you feeling weird my dear, there's something strange going on out there, Beth sings in the show's vampy opening number. And this theme of connectedness - between our inner lives and outer space, between the power of now and the power of not right now and especially between each other - is what ties the show's story and its big ideas together.
"HILARIOUS" NPR
I never cared that much about happiness, Beth explains, I always thought it was so bourgeois. Then I was miserable. And happiness didnt seem so bougie anymore. And so Beth sets out to understand happiness and finds it's inextricably linked to change.
A one two punch launches this "Fool's Journey" for Beth, and her partner/producer Greg - he's like my Sancho Panza but a lot thinner. They are fired from their radio show, The Beth Lapides Experience. And then evicted. They have 60 days to move. Cue ticking clock. People keep telling Beth that "getting evicted was the best thing that ever happened to me". And becoming someone who can say "getting evicted was the best thing that ever happened to me" becomes her new goal.
It's a lemons into lemonade story with a twist. Beth achieves her goal, but once she does she sees how intimately connected her story is to the big story. It's not just me. We're all being evicted now. And her new goal becomes understanding how being evicted from the solid knowable Piscean reality into the ishy squishy fishy Aquarian Age may be the best thing that ever happened to us.
