I'm new to Hitchens and am absolutely enamoured with his wit and acerbic demeanor. His arguements are wonderfully constructed with an eye to detail that seems to leave both his opponents and detracters speechless or atleast without a leg to stand on. Thank you so much for posting these, I fully intend to study them ruthlessly...peace my brother.

I certainly find Hitchens' rhetorical pugilism fascinating and thought provoking. He is an outstanding investigative journalist who has risked his life for the betterment of others via power of information. His stance on the present Iraqi occupation is questionable, yet he presents a unique argument through a more progressive, secular path the Iraqis can take. That's true. However, he is overlooking and overstating his argument by this administration's deliberate misleading information it presented to the American people. Yes, Iraq was occupied by a vile dictator, but there are many more worldwide. This occupation turned from gross incompetence to greed for the oil companies and military industrial complex, specifically private contractors. The biggest blunder to this day is this administration's handlings of the al-Qaeda threats pre 9/11. If the allegations in Ron Suskin's new book prove to be true, everyone involved during that time should be tried and convicted for treason.

Even though I go to Stanford, I'll go ahead and give a Berkeley person props - your videos are awesome! I can't get enough of Christopher Hitchens. His accurate commentary on Jerry Falwell upon his passing is probably my favorite piece of Hitchens that I've seen. And for what it's worth, I think Berkeley is an infinitely more interesting city than Palo Alto... thank God... errr... thank the one who is not great... that I'm going out w/ a Cal girl now and I can spend some time in a more interesting place than Palo Alto :-)
